INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Indiana Black Expo, Inc. announced today that Pastor Kenneth Sullivan Jr. of New Direction Church will serve as its Guest Speaker at its Ecumenical Service on Thursday, July 11th at 7:00 PM. The free service will be hosted by Kevin Harrison, Senior Pastor at Grace Apostolic Church, located at 649 East 22nd Street. This year will feature the city-wide Ecumenical Choir under the direction of esteemed Minster of Music Sherri Garrison of the Eastern Star Church.
“We are looking forward to Pastor Sullivan, Jr.’s deliverance of a powerful message as we kick off the 49th Summer Celebration,” said IBE President Tanya Bell. “This year, we are in a new location thanks to Pastor Kevin Harrison and Grace Apostolic Church and will be blessed by the city-wide Ecumenical Choir under Sherri’s leadership,” added Bell.
About Pastor Kenneth Sullivan, Jr.
Pastor Sullivan Jr. serves as the Senior Pastor of New Direction Church, of Indianapolis. He is highly devoted to family, raising three children Gabrielle, Kennedy, and David Jeremiah with his wife, Lady Roxie. He has earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Crossroads Bible College with a double major in Pastoral Ministry and Theology. Pastor Sullivan is also a published author having recently released his first book “Rules of Engagement,” a practical and relational teaching guide for women who want to learn how to successfully build the relationship they desire by using proven biblical, Christ-centered methods. Pastor Sullivan’s vision to pour into the lives of youth and adults of the churches community far and wide has also been developed into a separate 501(c) (3) organization entitled S.A.V.E.S. This Organization is strictly geared towards developing programs, camps, events, and scholarship opportunities for the youth and their families.
About Minister Sherri Garrison
Sherri is the Sr. Campus Music Director of Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sherri has been Eastern Star’s Minister of Music and Director of Music Ministries for almost 30 years. Under Garrison’s leadership, in 1999, the Eastern Star Recording Choir released its first CD, which generated engagements across the United States and abroad—London, Paris, Greece, and Japan. For over ten years, Ms. Garrison has served as director for the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) Women of Worship, which, in 1993, recorded its debut release “It’s Our Time in Indianapolis.” Sherri has been honored with an abundance of awards the most recent being Indiana Black Expo’s Minister of Music Lifetime Achievement award 2018, along with GMWA’s Women of Worship Honoree, 2018. Sherri has ministered with such artist as Kirk Franklin, VaShawn Mitchell Kurt Carr, Darwin Hobbs and many more.
